Rewind to 2009

Nearly three years ago, my family and I were eagerly anticipating the birth of "Riri" (yes, Aretha Franklin's nickname.) Momma had donned that name despite not knowing if my sister was actually having a girl.  Everyone just knew, secretly wishing for a boy. (Our family is loaded with chicas!) However, none of us knew for certain because the proud parents had decided that the reveal date, would be the delivery date. It was actually kind of fun that way. On July 15, 2009 Addisyn Rylee joined us - and my world changed...

I love her! She makes me smile even if I'm in the foulest of moods. That's why I always have a picture of her nearby - especially at school.

My sister, like many first-time moms, wanted to capture her new baby's precious moments. You know, those really cool Anne Geddes-like newborn shots that people pay a butt load of money to get?? Well, not that she wouldn't do anything for her baby girl, but $1,000+ for a First Year package was out of the question, so she asked, "Can't you and your photography friends take some photos?"  Ummmmmm, sure - and here we go!
