The Holiday are Here: 2014!

As expected, this month was plumb full with lots of activity. Take a look at some of the highlights.

Although a little uncertain at first, Ashton's first visit with Santa was remarkably better than his big sister's. Remember this one? LOL.

Oh yeah, she's got it down now...

Bug's first Christmas program invite from Creation Academy

He never made it. Mimi, Chief, and I got out of the alley when Ash called to say she was headed back home. The photo below soon followed. This was the start of cold/flu season. Both crew members fought with vengeance for the next few months.

We managed to make our annual trip to Prairie Lights with Mimi too.

Bug had a terrible cough, so our visit through the forest was brief!

Christmas Eve - do they look sleepy????

Christmas Day

Too many toys too much fun. The day was spent with lots of family!

What was supposed to be a weekend family trip to an indoor water park was quickly cancelled:  ASTHMA! My little buddy had a terrible flare up, and was rushed to Cook Children's Hospital after Cook Urgent Care in Mansfield wouldn't open the doors five minutes after closing. Don't even get me started with this. They even called to alert the staff that they were on the way...

I picked up Addi from the hospital, and she stayed the night with me. Ash said she was a trooper through it all, and with the right meds, Bug made a nice recovery:

Even being in the hospital can't stop his selfie madness

A Halloween Story

Lots of candy was collected, and we were all exhausted by the end of the night. Thanks to Nay Nay, we almost had to call for "rescue" - a little detour caused us to explore the LONG route...

I posted this question to Facebook and received some interesting responses. Here's another shot. My trick or treating crew consisted of an old Gorton's fisherman, a mermaid, and a pirate. You write the title!

Earlier that day - a little Google fun!

The State Fair of Texas

The wind was a little brisk, but we decided to take advantage of our "free" tickets and journey to sunny South Dallas for the day. It was Ashton's first trip to the state fair, and Ash joined us this time.

We managed to tackle a corny dog, two chicken finger baskets, and a funnel cake. Next time, I'll remember to hunt down my catfish basket; it was truly missed.

All in all, it was a fun day, but Addi wasn't as adventurous as I expected . . .

Random School Days: Before and After...

Well, the first two weeks were filled with a few tears and a little uncertainty. Bug quickly determined that Chief was the "villain" (he chauffeured Ashton to school) and Mimi was the "hero"(she picked him up) in his Monday - Thursday pre-school routine. Nevertheless, they both managed to capture some of Ashton's first two months of school, and soon he decided that this school gig was a pretty okay deal...
