Bug's New Do

It's long and curly, so what's a momma to do? Ash decided to give mini ponytails a try get Bug's hair under control since he was feeling much better now.  He didn't appreciate it, but he does look so cute!

He likes to help Chief read the paper and then eat it -
And soon his car will be "totaled"

So, Ash's birthday, January 15, is the first to roll around. Our traditional birthday dinner celebration was a week later, and this time she decided on Black Finn in The Highlands. It's a great place for happy hour, but I don't think we'll be back there soon for dinner. Bug was still sporting his do - a redo. This time Ash caught his while he was sleeping . This one I added effects from Instagram -

Welcome 2013!

Where has the time gone? Christmas came and went. It was an eventful one.  Tradition has changed, and now the celebrations have moved to Mira Lagos.  A little now and ice slowed the day, but eventually, most of the "regular" crew made it, and even Red's parents, and a few of his siblings and their families were able to join us for Christmas dinner.  Here's a summary; and for the record, these are all iPhone photos :-/

Bug got his share of new clothes and few toys, but Addi couldn't get enough of opening presents- even ones that weren't hers!  She got a trampoline, lots of art supplies, books, clothes and more. Santa didn't disappoint . . .

The New Year rolled in and then shortly thereafter, Ash and Bug were hit hard with the flu! It's been really awful this year - one of the worst seasons in history. Bug was the first victim, officially diagnosed during a 5-hour visit to Cook's Children Urgent Care.

With the help of a baby Tamiflu prescription, he actually rebounded rather quickly; then it hit his momma. She didn't fair as well . . . To keep Ladybug away from all the sickness she spent that first critical weekend with me.  Saturday we spent the day at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and also did a little spell at Will Rogers where the Trains Convention was taking place (thanks to my friend Jennifer Ware.) It was a good day.
Playing with light tubes
 A Texas dinosaur footprint
 Driving the ambulance
 Working the cash register
And getting help from a new friend

 Trains, trains, and more trains!
